Toka Lintsa, the founding director of Trot Your Globe, made her debut at Fit Night Out SA in 2019 with a resistance bands class for Virgin Active called "Active Bands". This debut class inspired her vision to collaborate with Women's Health on all their FNO events. Fortunately, the collaboration came to fruition, and Toka and her team were subsequently booked to headline the
following year's FNO events.
In 2020, Trot Your Globe made its mark on the Fit Night Out stage in Cape Town, South Africa. The health publication had launched the FNO charity drive and requested Toka to give an Afro dance class among six headliners at all 2020 FNO events. Toka and her team were flown to Cape Town in February 2020 to introduce their dance program to hundreds of Women's Health readers.
Trot Your Globe's Afro-Dance Fitness Class was a hit at the biggest fitness event in South Africa for 2020, with Women's Health Magazine reporting it to have been the highest calorie-burning class at the event. This event marked the beginning of an event journey with Women's Health.
In the video, you can see not only Toka but also Jessica Mckee, who led the class alongside Venesië, Kopano, and Angelique. While this event took place in February 2020 before the enforcement of lockdown restrictions, it still holds an important place in the history of Trot Your Globe and Women's Health.
